The Woes Of Frankie
by
Approaching eighty,
broke a tooth on stale biscotti,
can’t get the song,
“Monster Mash” out of his head,
most of his friends
in jail or in hell,
arthritic hands
can barely hold a knife steady,
and it’s been years
since he carved anything meaningful
into a stranger’s flesh.
THE HAUNTED STARBUCKS
